LGBTQ Affirming Therapist in Pasadena, CA

For many LGBTQ+ people, finding a therapist who shares your lived experience can be transformative and even life-changing. At Anchor Psychotherapy, Inc., as a skilled therapists, we understand and specialize in working with the LGBTQ+ community, providing affirmative care to you and your loved ones, with a distinct understanding of who you are and what makes your experiences uniquely yours.

Exploring and Embracing One’s Identity

The process of exploring and embracing one’s identity is an intensely personal journey. One that can be heavily defined by how supported one is as they navigate their experience. It is imperative that you find a therapist who understands you. More importantly, you deserve someone who validates your experience and affirms you every step of the way.

Sometimes, a person’s identity is not always the reason why they seek therapy, as it is not always the cause of internalized distress. And other times identity exploration is the only reason someone seeks therapy.

Whether you are looking for individual, couples, family, or group therapy, our practice is a safe and affirming space to get you the support you deserve.

We look forward to meeting you when you’re ready!

LGBTQ+ Group Support

Affirming the identity of LGBTQ+ individuals reduces their risk of suicide by more than half, according to The National Survey on LGBTQ Youth Mental Health conducted by The Trevor Project in 2020.

Creating safe and affirming spaces for the community as well as those who might not easily understand identity difference is a crucial step toward building a more accepting and inclusive society. This is why we see the importance in facilitating groups which support both LGBTQ+ people as we as their loved ones.
